CD Projekt has revived hopes for a second season of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, saying it is “definitely” planning more animated projects set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe.
During CD Projekt’s latest earnings call, CEO Michal Nowakowski was asked whether the company was planning more pop culture projects and whether the beloved anime from CD Projekt, Studio Trigger and Netflix would get a second season.
Nowakowski and his colleagues have been pretty vocal in the past that Cyberpunk Edgerunners won’t be continuing past its first season, and while he never confirmed that, he did at least say that fans should expect more animated projects in the same vein.
We definitely plan to do more Cyberpunk animation, so hopefully that’s enough to answer that. So expect more projects, but that’s all I can say for now.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners premiered in September 2022 to great acclaim from fans and critics, and even sparked a resurgence in Cyberpunk 2077, with up to a million players logging in daily.
