New singer-songwriter competition planned for 2023

St. Polten (OTS) The album “My Song for Lower Austria” brings together the top 12 entries from last year’s songwriter competition in the Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich. Performers now presented their musical declarations of love to the federal state at the musical CD presentation in Furth. Blabensteiner and Tanja Trappl as well as Clemens Reinsperger from the Wilden Kaisern stood together with Roman Beisser and Stefan Gössinger, Georg Neuman and Daniel Muck with Marlene Pregesbauer – in September of the previous year at the final show “Dein Lied für Niederösterreich” on the stage in front of the ORF state studio. They all took the jury by storm with their soulful and spirited contributions.

The President of the State Parliament, Karl Wilfing, was impressed by the musical variety on the sampler: “I am grateful for these diverse contributions, all of which inspire the spirit. In terms of culture, we are top class in Lower Austria, and that is certainly thanks to the popular culture: a large number of the children enjoy an education at the music school. For every talent in this country there is an opportunity to show and perform. Wherever we can help and support, we do so with enthusiasm.”

“The singer-songwriters are craftsmen of a special kind and encourage you to pause and think,” emphasized Martin Lammerhuber, Managing Director of Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich. The album is available for twelve euros in the shop “Volkskultur – Handwerk der Regions” (Ludwig-von-Köchel-Platz 1) in Krems and in the bookshop of the regions of folk culture in Lower Austria (Steiner Donaulände 56), also in Krems. You can also send an email to office@kulturregionnoe.at or by phone at 02742/90666-6137. The songs are also available digitally on the popular streaming platforms Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer and Amazon Music.

Martin Lammerhuber announced the new competition during the CD presentation: Under the title “My song for… a future worth living”, singer-songwriters can express their thoughts and feelings for a future worth living in a song they have written and composed themselves. “Everyone has an image of the future or a feeling for how their own life and the world should look like in the future,” explains Martin Lammerhuber. “Cohesion, hope, joy and courage are major factors in this vision of the future, which is, however, influenced by social challenges, fear and insecurity. Songs can show, address, touch, influence moods, provide security, support and orientation,” says Lammerhuber.

Once once more, people over the age of 15 who were born in Lower Austria or live in Lower Austria and would like to share their feelings and thoughts for a future worth living can take part. The original compositions (between 2.30 and 3.45 minutes), including a brief description of the person, should be sent to liedermacher as an audio or video file by October 6, 2023@kulturregionnoe.at. Questions are at 0676/89944470 or by mail to liedermacher@kulturregionnoe.at possible. In November there is a big final show of the top 12 songwriters, these contributions will be found on an album in 2024.
