Chef’s brand, Yupinhuang were found to be banned veterinary drugs in Europe
One of the key points of the Consumer Council’s test is the nitrofurazone metabolite SEM. SEM may disrupt the chondrocytes of experimental animals, degenerate articular cartilage, and deform the limbs. It is a banned veterinary drug in Europe. This time, it was found that SEM was detected in Yupinhuang, al fresco and Chef brand (commonly known as chef sausage), and the content was 4.0 micrograms, 6.1 micrograms and 14 micrograms per kilogram respectively, which all exceeded the current EU action reference point (1.0 micrograms per kilogram).
TOPVALU, City’super found to have carcinogens
Among the many samples, only TOPVALU and City’super were found to contain carcinogens, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are all genetic carcinogens, which may be related to their smoking. Although the detected amount did not exceed the EU limit, but other samples tested this time did not detect these substances, consumers should pay more attention.
