This Saturday, the Constitutional Convention concluded the voting on the permanent norms, thereby ending the first draft of the new Constitution.

In this way, the document and its 499 permanent items will go to the Harmonization Commission.

“Today we mark a very important milestone. We are pleased to formally announce the closing of the constitutional debate following 103 plenary sessions”, said the president of the CC, Maria Elisa Quintero in the middle of a press point.

“With this plenary session, not only is the constitutional debate closed, but another milestone in this process is reached, complying with all established deadlines. he added.

Regarding the draft of the new Constitution, the vice president of the organization referred, Gaspar Domínguez, who showed satisfaction with the work done.

“We managed to take this big step. We fulfilled this stage within the deadlines and in the manner in which we promised the citizenry nearly 10 months ago.” said.
