American Martin Fitzwater took first place, won the prize of 30 thousand dollars (around R$ 173 thousand) and guaranteed a place in Mr. Olympia 2025. The top 5 was also made up of Shaun Clarida (3rd), Matthias Hollweck (4th) and Brazilian Marcello Horse (5th).

CBum, who had already announced his retirement, went back and agreed to participate in the Praga Pro in the new category. However, with second place, the bodybuilder was asked shortly after the event about his future in competitions and confirmed that this was his last competition.

— This show was really significant to be the last and will still be the last. I’m sad to say this. This show was for the love of the sport. It was an honor for me to compete against champions — he concluded.

The six-time Mr. Olympia champion had also declared that retirement was his wife’s request. In an interview after the end of Praga Pro, Courtney Alexis King, spoke about the end of CBum’s career and paid tribute to her husband.

CBum’s Epic Showdown: The End of an Era!

So, folks, gather ‘round as we talk about Chris Bumstead—known as CBum. This guy just strutted onto the stage at the Prague Pro 2024, and guess what? He decided to show us what happens when a legend takes a step into the open waters of bodybuilding. He’s been kingpin in the Classic Physique category, racking up six Mr. Olympia titles like they’re Pokémon cards, and suddenly, hello darkness, my old friend—he faced defeat for the first time in six years! Who knew muscles could come with a side of drama?

There he was, the Canadian Adonis himself, competing in a category that didn’t have a weight limit. Seriously, it sounds like bodybuilding’s version of an all-you-can-eat buffet. Naturally, going from “Classic” to “Open” means you’ve just stepped into the bazaar of brawn! So many bulging muscles, it looked like a bad day at a protein powder factory. Our boy CBum walked away with a second-place finish—solid, but I suspect his competitors whispered sweet nothings about ‘goodbye, perfect record.’

What’s Left to Conquer?

Let’s take a moment—CBum, at the tender age of 29, has been a bodybuilding juggernaut, strutting his stuff and flexing like he’s auditioning for a muscle-bound Broadway. But just as the audience reaches for their tissues, cue the retirement announcement. Yes, after tasting a little defeat pie, CBum decided that the podium life was getting a bit stale. He told the fans, “This show was really significant to be the last…” Ladies and gentlemen, it seems that in sports, just like in life—when you hit your peak, sometimes it’s time to kick back and enjoy the view from the sofa.

Love and Muscles

Now, let’s give a standing ovation to his supportive wife, Courtney Alexis King, who apparently proposed his retirement. Imagine that dinner conversation: “Honey, we need to talk… about your muscles.” She described his journey as “incredible,” while probably also counting down the number of dumbbells she has to avoid in the living room from now on.

And can you believe it? That second-place prize winner, American Martin Fitzwater, strutted off with made more than enough dough—$30,000, I’d say he’s buying lots of protein powder! Meanwhile, CBum is taking home fond memories, and maybe some free weights to remember his glory days. If you need me, I’ll be in my corner trying to figure out how to lift my grocery bags without feeling like I just completed a triathlon.

In Conclusion

So as we wave goodbye to CBum and his competitive spirit, let’s remember that every titan has his time to step off the stage. But fear not, dear fans, while he may have stepped back from competition, I have no doubt that this muscle marvel will keep flexing his charm on social media as if he’s still in the game. After all, a bodybuilder never truly retires; they just start a YouTube channel. Bravo, CBum! Keep those gains, and maybe give us a few laughs along the way—you know, the kind that won’t require a protein shake.

Until next time, keep those weights up and your spirits high—life’s too short not to flex a bit!

Chris Bumstead, widely known as CBum, faced his first defeat in a remarkable six-year span on Sunday, November 17. This unexpected turn of events occurred during the highly anticipated Prague Pro 2024, where he competed fiercely in the Open Bodybuilding category, a division he had never tackled before. Renowned for his domination in the Classic Physique category with an outstanding six Mr. Olympia titles under his belt, CBum’s venture into the Open category marked a significant milestone in his career.

The Prague Pro marked CBum’s debut in the Open category, a demanding classification that imposes no weight restrictions, allowing athletes to push their physiques to the limit. Despite his stellar performance, CBum secured a commendable second place finish, hence ending a remarkable six-year undefeated streak in bodybuilding competitions. The competition proved tough, but his resolve to compete in uncharted territory demonstrated his commitment to the sport.

American bodybuilder Martin Fitzwater emerged victorious at the event, clinching the top spot alongside a cash prize of $30,000 (approximately R$ 173,000), as well as earning a coveted position in the Mr. Olympia 2025. The rest of the top five competitors were rounded out by Shaun Clarida in third place, Matthias Hollweck coming in fourth, and Brazilian Marcello Horse securing fifth.

CBum, who had previously announced his retirement plans, made a surprising decision to participate in the Prague Pro upon accepting the challenge of competing in a new category. However, after the event concluded, he reflected on his experience and reaffirmed his intention to retire from competitions. “This show was really significant to be the last and will still be the last. I’m sad to say this,” he expressed. “This show was for the love of the sport. It was an honor for me to compete against champions,” he concluded with deep sincerity.

The decision to retire came at the behest of his wife, Courtney Alexis King, who after the Prague Pro event, shared her heartfelt sentiments regarding the end of CBum’s illustrious career. “I have no words. I’m so proud of him. He has had such an incredible journey and it has truly been a privilege to be by his side through it all,” she said. Courtney emphasized the magnitude of his achievements, declaring it a vital aspect of their lives and relationship, concluding with, “I’m so happy for him. I’m so proud of him.”
