CBS extends NCIS, NCIS: Hawaii & CSI: Vegas to 2024

CBS is treating its US crime series NCIS, NCIS: Hawaii and CSI: Vegas to further seasons. It’s season 21 for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, round three for the island offshoot, and chapter three for the CSI revival.

The procedural crime series of the US broadcaster CBS will not have to pack up anytime soon, because how Deadline reported from the executive floor of the eye channel, new seasons for NCIS, NCIS: Hawai’i and CSI: Vegas were recently commissioned. For the long-livedNCISThe original series is due for the 21st season from autumn of this year until 2024, the third season from the sunny Hawaiian offshoot and the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation revival from Vegas is also opening the third chapter.

With the renewal for the 20th season jostling “NCIS‘ last year as the third longest-running US drama series, sharing it with ‘Gunsmoke“ aka „Smoking guns” – the series that mightn’t be overtaken for a long time until Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit came around the corner.

Vanessa Lachey (Truth Be Told (2015)) has been investigating in the Hawaiian offshoot since 2021, playing NCIS Pearl Harbor’s chief investigator Jane Tennant as the long-running crime franchise’s first female SAC. Alex Tarrant, Noah Mills, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Jason Antoon, Tori Anderson and Kian Talan are part of their team’s cast.

CSI: Vegas‘ opens a whole new chapter in Las Vegas, where it all began, six years following the end of the original series. Investigators face an existential threat to the Las Vegas Crime Lab, as if the evidence provided by the experts is invalidated, thousands of convicted murderers might be released back onto the neon-lit streets of the gambling city. A brilliant new team, led by Maxine Roby (Paula Newsome), enlists the help of old allies to avert this fate. Gil Grissom (William Petersen), Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) and David Hodges (Wallace Langham) are there to help. They join forces to apply the latest forensic techniques to secure the evidence and justice in the so-called Sin City.
