On Wednesday, CBA agents detained six people associated with the authorities of the Collegium Humanum university – the tvn24.pl portal learned. The arrests are part of an investigation conducted by the organized crime and corruption section of the National Prosecutor’s Office.
The arrests were made on Wednesday by CBA agents yesterday, mainly in Warsaw.
– This is a serious investigation that has been supervised by the Silesian organized crime and corruption department for months. Almost all existing secret services were involved in various aspects of the case, says our interlocutor, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Questionable diplomas
Collegium Humanum was established in 2018 in Warsaw, quickly becoming one of the largest Polish private universities. According to journalists’ findings, among others: Polish “Newsweek”, its success was related to offering instant courses guaranteeing an MBA diploma. The credibility of these diplomas (allowing, for example, to avoid competitions for members of supervisory boards of state-owned companies, for purchases of agricultural land) were to be guaranteed by English universities. However, they themselves turned out to be only business activities, without the right to organize MBA studies.
The ease of obtaining a diploma valued in the business world resulted in Collegium Humanum graduates including: political and economic elite of the United Right. Among them were presidents and board members of state-owned companies, politicians, army generals and high-ranking officers of the secret services.
