Cavusoglu proceeded to the inauguration of the Turkish Embassy in Dakar

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Turkey is among the 5 countries with the largest diplomatic network in the world.

The Head of Turkish Diplomacy and the Senegalese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aissata Tall Sall, spoke at the inauguration of the Chancellery building of the Turkish Embassy in Dakar.

Recalling that the first consulate was established in Dakar in 1909 and the first embassy was opened in 1962, Cavusoglu said that with this inauguration a new phase began in bilateral relations.

Turkey is one of the countries with the largest diplomatic network in the world, welcomed the Turkish minister. And to declare: “To be effective in diplomacy, we must be on the ground. To this end, we are also strengthening the infrastructure of our diplomacy. We have become one of the 5 countries with the largest diplomatic network in the world. .”

Thanking the Turkish companies that built the embassy chancellery, Cavusoglu said that with the new embassy building, which adopts Seljuk architecture, better service will be offered to citizens.

He also thanked the Senegalese authorities for their cooperation and said, “We are experiencing the ‘teranga’ that defines Senegal, meaning Senegalese hospitality and examples of our common culture.”

Senegalese Foreign Minister Sall also conveyed the greetings and congratulations of Senegalese President Macky Sall.

Sall said that this chancellery is not just a building where the Turkish flag flies, it is a symbol of deep, effective and multidimensional cooperation and relations.

Recalling that Senegal is the gateway to Africa, Sall noted that they were happy that the Turkish flag was flying in Senegal.

Sall concluded: “Long live Senegal, long live Turkey”.
