Charlie Park pushes his current one Cave Sermon-Paradigm shift Divine Laughter with Al’s Lullaby beyond sludge death, a purely instrumental epilogue in ambient post-rock.
Shimmering guitar surfaces sparkle in their best way Explosions in the Sky-Mystical manner until following around three and a half minutes the cultivated curiosity is exchanged for a peaceful gentleness, condensing while a gentle beat stomps. Al’s Lullaby immerses itself, looks aesthetically like the path to the center of a spiral galaxy. (Or: once more the choice of cover fits perfectly with the music captured behind it Cave Sermon). Really nice anyway.
Eclectically placed in the customs of the genre, the almost six minutes of the standalone single are, strictly speaking, not very original and, standing on their own, are somehow left hanging in the air in a somewhat unsatisfactory way, but still do practically nothing wrong. Why? Cave Sermon-Head Park would like to explore this side of his project in more detail.
