Dr. Hossam Mawafi, Professor of Movement Cases at Kasr Al-Ainy College of Medicine, warned of burning in the soles of the feet, pointing out that it might be a warning sign of a serious illness.

Muwafi said during his program, “Rabbi Zadni Alma”, broadcast on Sada Al-Balad channel, that burning in the soles of the feet is a risk indicator of peripheral neuritis, which may reach 99%, especially if it is accompanied by numbness and pain.

The Professor of Critical Care Medicine explained that diabetic patients are the most vulnerable group to peripheral neuritis, and the reason is due to the negative effects that high blood sugar inflicts on the central nervous system.

He revealed that the danger of peripheral neuritis lies in the absence of a treatment for it, stressing that the injection of vitamin B does not help to get rid of it, as many believe.
