Cause of death of Julián Ortega, renowned actor from ‘Élite’ and ‘Velvet’, revealed

The entertainment world is in mourning following the death of Spanish actor Julián Ortega, known internationally for his roles in Élite and Las chicas del cable, on Netflix.

On August 26, the Union of Actors and Actresses in Spain confirmed the death of the actor through a statement on its official X account.

Neither the association nor the family and friends of the 41-year-old actor revealed the cause of his death.

However, ‘La Voz de Cádiz’ reported that municipal sources indicated that Julián Ortega “drowned on Sunday,” 25, “on a beach in Barbete,” in Cádiz.

According to the media, Ortega “drowned,” however, days later, municipal authorities revealed new details of the death.

It was learned that the people who were on the beach called the emergency services after pulling a man out of the water.

This activated the attention of the Health Emergency Centre (CES) 061, the Civil Guard, the Local Police and the Beach Service.

The Olive Press website reported on Wednesday that the famous actor “suddenly collapsed on Zahora beach in Barbete” at around 5:30 p.m.

The rescuers who arrived at the scene confirmed that the man died due to cardiorespiratory arrest while he was in the water.

“Paramedics spent up to half an hour trying to revive the artist, but he was declared dead at the scene,” the website noted.

It should be noted that Julián Ortega, son of actress Gloria Muñoz, graduated from the Royal School of Dramatic Arts in Madrid.

The actor rose to fame after appearing in films such as ‘El otro barrio’, in which he debuted at age 12, and ‘Mi amor perdido’, and series such as ‘Élite’, ‘Velvet’, ‘Las chicas del cable’ and ‘4 estrellas’.
