The vehicle is 11.9m long, 2.1m wide, 0.25m freeboard.
After being granted a registration certificate, the vehicle was registered on January 19, 2023 at the Waterway Management Center (Department of Transport) of Ho Chi Minh City. The certificate of technical safety and environmental protection is valid until January 2024. Vehicles are allowed to carry 12 passengers, the total load is 2.15 tons.
Meanwhile, the vehicle that collided with the wooden ship was a steel barge carrying a container bearing the number VL – 15108, with a total load of up to 2,192.3 tons. The difference in vehicle loads is a big reason why the wooden passenger train immediately capsized following the collision. In addition, the barge also owns a main engine with a capacity of 940CV and an auxiliary machine with a capacity of 34 CV.
