Forlì’s Morgagni-Pierantoni Hospital Embraces a Vision of Integrated Care

Dr. sintoni, recently appointed Director General of the Morgagni-Pierantoni Hospital in Forlì, has articulated a compelling vision focused on integrated care and the optimization of local healthcare resources. A key component of this vision is the prioritization of flexible local services that can effectively respond to the evolving needs of the community. “The structure of the health and social welfare services in the Forlì district makes it an ideal testing ground,” he states, highlighting the potential for a seamless integration between the Morgagni-pierantoni Hospital and a network of local services.

Sintoni emphasizes the importance of tailoring therapeutic paths to individual citizens, recognizing the increasing prevalence of chronic degenerative pathologies. “The therapeutic path must be tailor-made for every citizen more and more frequently”,he explains. this individualized approach extends to hospital admission, with a focus on integrating the hospital into the broader continuum of primary and intermediate care.

the Morgagni-Pierantoni Hospital, known for its exceptional team of professionals, advanced technical infrastructure, and commitment to delivering high-quality care, is poised to serve as a central hub in this network. Sintoni acknowledges the challenges of balancing the roles of leading both the hospital and the forlì District, but expresses profound honor and commitment to this dual responsibility.”We have agreed that new resources of medical managers will be made available to the hospital-territory management that we are implementing. In the next few days we will define the operational aspects in more detail,” he assures, demonstrating a proactive approach to addressing organizational needs.

Sintoni recognizes the hospital’s strategic position within the Romagna AUSL, especially in relation to the reference district hospital in Faenza and the large multi-specialty Bufalini Hospital in Cesena. “It is indeed indeed a high-tech hospital with great potential, above all inserted in a perspective of integration and network with the other facilities of the romagna AUSL and in particular with the facility of Faenza, the reference district hospital, and with the Bufalini of Cesena, more large multi-specialty hospital in our province with which we share complex structures and clinical departments,” he explains, emphasizing the value of collaboration and resource sharing.

The integration with the University of Bologna presents both opportunities and complexities. Sintoni acknowledges the university’s potential to attract additional professionals, students, and specialists, but also stresses the need for careful consideration and management of this integration. He points out that the Morgagni-Pierantoni Hospital, as a district and multi-specialist hospital within a large healthcare company, has its own unique characteristics that must be protected.

Looking towards the future, Sintoni highlights the ongoing renovation of the Allende Pavilion, part of the Cau construction site.”The Cau construction site is progressing. The renovation of the Allende Pavilion requires particular precautions imposed by the Superintendency for Cultural Heritage, thus the completion times of the work are not yet certain, the objective is to complete the works by March-April,” he reveals, demonstrating transparency and a commitment to delivering these upgrades within a defined timeframe. These renovations, he suggests, will further enhance the hospital’s capabilities and contribute to its role as a leading healthcare institution in the region.
