Catherine’s possible visit to the Paris games is under preparation

UNITED KINGDOM.— Prince William and Princess Kate are expected to join the festivities at the 2024 Paris Olympics next week, in what would be her third public appearance since her cancer diagnosis earlier this year, British media reports said.

The heir to the British throne and the Princess of Wales are expected to travel to the French capital to watch one of the new sports on the Olympic schedule.

“Princess Catherine is looking ahead to her next public appearance as she looks forward to travelling to Paris to watch some of the 2024 Olympics, having taken part in Trooping the Colour in June and the Wimbledon men’s singles final a month later,” the Daily Express reports.

In its online edition, the newspaper indicates that Kensington Palace has not yet set a date for the princess’s return to her royal duties, since she herself revealed last June that although she continues to undergo chemotherapy, she has “good days and bad days.”

Fond memories

A source close to Catherine reveals that she is looking forward to travelling across the English Channel to watch part of the competitions.

“The princess would love to go to the Olympics,” the source said. “She has very fond memories of London 2012 and is looking forward to attending another Games as long as they are close to home.”

However, the source stressed that no decision has been made yet as Catherine’s attendance depends on her health and whether her doctors give her the all-clear, adds the Daily Express.

William is expected to attend some of the speed climbing competitions, which start next Monday, to observe the British team’s performance.

This discipline, relatively new to the Olympics, debuted in Tokyo 2020.

Harry and Meghan

The youngest son of British King Charles III, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, will visit Colombia next November at the invitation of Vice President Francia Márquez, the official announced yesterday.

“During their stay, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will accompany me on visits to Bogotá and the Pacific region and the Caribbean region, in Cartagena and Cali, respectively,” added Francia Márquez.

Harry and Meghan will meet with leaders, young people and women “committed to progress” and will be able to discover “Colombia’s rich heritage,” added the vice president and minister for equality in a press release.

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, will visit Colombia in November.

The visit will be held during the first World Ministerial Conference on the Elimination of Violence against Children.

Foundation

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their Archewell Foundation, which promotes safer digital environments, will participate in several activities related to this topic.

Safer spaces

The conference will present a global framework for creating safer physical and virtual spaces, addressing issues such as cyberbullying, online exploitation and the impact of these threats on mental health.
