Minnesota Vikings have requested interview with Catherine Raiche for their GM role
The Minnesota Vikings have requested an interview with Philadelphia Eagles vice president of football operations Catherine Raiche about their vacant general manager position.
According to NFL Network‘s Mike Garafolo, the Vikings’ application is believed to be a woman’s very first application, for the GM position, in NFL history.
Susan Tose Spencer, who also served as vice president and legal counsel with the Eagles, took over as general manager of the franchise from 1983 to 1985, but after being promoted by her father and former owner Leonard Tose. .
Garafolo added that the Vikings had also requested an interview with the Eagles’ director of player personnel, Brandon Brown.
The Vikings are on the hunt for a new general manager after the team sacked longtime executive Rick Spielman, ending his 16 years with the team, as well as head coach Mike Zimmer on Monday. Minnesota missed the playoffs for the second year in a row, finishing 8-9 in the 2021 regular season.

Raiche’s rise in the NFL was swift, following previous stints in the Canadian Football League and the XFL. A native of Montreal, Raiche was the Football Administration Coordinator for the Montreal Alouettes from 2015 to 2017, before becoming the team’s assistant general manager in 2017.
Raiche spent 2018 with the Toronto Argonauts as Director of Football Administration. She then briefly served as Director of Football Operations for the Tampa Bay Vipers in the XFL, before joining the Eagles in 2019 initially as Football Operations / Player Staff Coordinator.
