Catherine Fulop and Ova Sabatini starred in a production for Gente Magazine from the paradisiacal landscape of Aruba. In an interview, they talked regarding the secrets behind their long and happy relationship.
As Cathy pointed out, the couple started dating in 1994, so they have been together for 29 years, with 25 of them being married.
“To maintain passion you have to like yourself a lot. But at the same time it has to do with admiration. If you are physically attracted to each other but you don’t end up liking certain attitudes toward life, it won’t work out in the long run. You have to spend time together, laugh. It is a sum of things,” the model began.
Ova added: “The fundamental premise is to like each other, that we are attracted to each other and that when we try to seduce each other, the other responds. And then I think it’s also key to make time during the week, go eat alone… a little romantic moment! We have fun together, we have a good time. “I also don’t downplay the importance of having interesting talks.”
On the other hand, when asked if “days can go by without speaking” due to an argument, Fulop explained: “Days without speaking to each other? No way! In fact, we hardly fight. We don’t like fighting. Things are talked regarding. We are not ones to go to sleep without talking to each other. Maybe one is angry regarding something that happened, but the other immediately backs down. We are like GPS, which says ‘recalculating’, and we solve everything.”
Then, Ova talked regarding a moment that marked them as a couple: “The birth of our daughters. I do not doubt it. But also the difficult moments we had over time and how we supported each other in those circumstances.” “In the good times it is easy, but you have to be in the bad times,” she reflected.
