Cat is rescued from the tree after a long time

What to do if a cat is stuck in the tree Common advice is to wait first, then lure them with food and, if all else fails, call the fire department. None of this helped with a cat from Virginia: it took four days for a “tree whisperer” to save her.

Scarlet the cat was chasing a squirrel, as her owner Grace Perrine told the local news service Richmond Register told. Scarlet was stuck at least 15 meters above the ground and might not get down on his own.

All the enticement and coaxing didn’t help, Perrine said. The cat did not come down of its own accord. When the fire brigade was finally called and Scarlet climbed up a ladder, Scarlet only fled, frightened, higher up the tree. The cat had to stay in the tree for four nights without food.

A tree feller finally had the brilliant idea. Perrine had started a call for help on Facebook, which Brett Parker of Match Cut Tree Bro’s also saw. “I thought to myself: what if I make some kind of lasso device, like the one used by animal rescue?” he explained Richmond Register.

No sooner said than done: One Facebook video titled “Operation Kitten Rescue” shows Parker climbing up to the frightened cat perched on the very limb of a branch. From there he actually caught the cat with the lasso and roped down with it. Halfway up, Scarlet finally climbed under his own power, as he explains in the Facebook video. To the Richmond Register Perrine said the cat hasn’t left her side since their tree adventure.

Thanks to his actions, Parker was awarded the titles “Tree Whisperer” and “Cat Rescuer” by Perrine – nothing more, because Parker strictly refused any financial reward. Knowing that the cat is doing well is his reward. And, as he jokingly adds, his reputation intact: “I knew that if I didn’t succeed, nobody would like me anymore.”
