MEXICO CITY (EFE).— President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum announced yesterday a move in her cabinet, which she called “castling,” by appointing Bertha Gómez as the new Undersecretary of Treasury Expenditures, replacing the current incumbent, Juan Pablo de Botton.
De Botton will now head the Finance Secretariat of the Government of Mexico City, a position currently held by Bertha Gómez.
“There is a castling, as you can see, Juan Pablo de Botton, current Undersecretary of Expenditures (of the Treasury) is going to be Secretary of Finance to the City Government,” he said.
Bertha Gómez, an economist by profession and current Secretary of Finance of the capital, held the position of Undersecretary of Expenditures of the capital government until June, when she replaced Luz Elena González, the next Secretary of Energy in Claudia’s government.

Upon arriving at her transitional home, Claudia told the media that she held a work meeting to “prepare the 2025 budget.”
He mentioned that the current Secretary of Finance, Rogelio Ramírez de la O, who will remain in the same position, was present at the meeting.
