CASLA Institute sent to the ICC a request for an arrest warrant against DGCIM, Sebin and PNB officers

This Tuesday, July 30, the Instituto CASLA made it known through a statement that he sent to the International Criminal Court (ICC) a request for an arrest warrant against three officers and one officialall of them senior officials of intelligence and police forces, such as the DGCIM, Sebin and PNB.

This request would be covered by article 58 of the Rome Statutewhich establishes that at any time after the intervention has begun, the Pre-Trial Chamber may issue, at the request of the Prosecutor, a arrest warrant against a person, if after examining the application and the evidence and other information submitted by the Prosecutor, it is concluded that:

“There are reasonable grounds to believe that a crime within the jurisdiction of the Court has been committed and, where appropriate, to prevent the person from continuing to commit that crime or a related crime within the jurisdiction of the Court arising from the same circumstances.”, reads part of the text,

It must be remembered that The CASLA Institute has numerous files with multiple cases of complaints from victims, family members and witnesses who have accused and pointed out these people directly as part of the systematic repression and persecution. that the Venezuelan State carries out against the civilian and military population. The statement also states that “These actions constitute a series of actions that influence arbitrary detentions, torture, sexual violence and persecution of a group or collectivity with its own identity, which is based on political motives, and continue to be committed to this day.”.
