The Casino group is in a more than critical situation. The distributor, which represents many brands such as Casino, Géant, Franprix, Monoprix, Leader Price, Sherpa and even Cdiscount, finds itself close to bankruptcy. With a debt of 6.4 billion euros at the end of 2022, the situation forces the group to sell several of its stores. Here are which ones in the deep South.
This Wednesday, June 14, Casino announced that it had received a preliminary letter of intent from a group of businessmen made up of Xavier Niel, Matthieu Pigasse and Moez-Alexandre Zouari.
This letter proposes an increase in Casino’s equity capital up to an amount of 1.1 billion euros. At the same time, the group, which is indebted to the tune of 6.4 billion euros, plans to sell 119 stores to Intermarchéresulting in the loss of approximately 4,000 jobs.
