In debt, the Casino group, which belongs to Jean-Charles Naouri, is preparing to sell 119 stores to Intermarché. There are 57 brands in 2023 (including 10 hypermarkets), then 62 more in the next three years.
The operation is a reason for concern for the representatives of the employees concerned by this change of sign because at Intermarché, the social policy depends on each store owner, the sign being a group of independents.
The Casino group’s elected staff have therefore initiated a so-called “economic alert right” procedure, to obtain more information on the situation of their company.
The list of stores concerned in the Alpes-Maritimes
If the key activity areas for Casino (Ile-de-France, Rhône-Alpes, and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) are relatively spared, Marseille, Lyon, Nice or Toulon are ultimately concerned. Indeed, there are many stores in the Alpes-Maritimes in the list.
