In the process, Paul Magnette, who had supported him before asking for his resignation, “welcomed the decision” of the Liégeois to withdraw from his post as president “in order to make possible the renewal of the Bureau of the Parliament of Wallonia. This act was necessary to restore the credibility of the institution and restore confidence between Walloon citizens and their elected representatives”. He also called on “the members of the other parties to do the same in order to be able to form a new Bureau, extended to the opposition”.
After the resignation of @PecriauxSophie, all the socialists of the Bureau took the measure of the events. I call on the members of the other parties to do the same in order to be able to form a new Bureau, extended to the opposition.

The Walloon MP Manu Disabato (Ecolo), who said Monday morning that he would resign this evening if Marcourt did not decide, also announced his withdrawal from the Bureau of the Walloon Parliament, following the announcement of Jean-Claude Marcourt. “I think it is necessary for the whole of the Bureau to be renewed, so that Parliament can regain serenity. I have therefore communicated to the clerk my decision to withdraw from it. It is my decision”, indicated the deputy in a communicated.
For the PTB, the resignation of Marcourt “is the minimum”
“Jean-Claude Marcourt’s resignation was indeed the minimum given the trip to Dubai at 20,000 euros. euros must also resign”, reacted Monday evening, on Twitter, the group leader of the PTB in the Walloon parliament, Germain Mugemangango.
“The political class must abandon its taste for privileges at the expense of the taxpayer. The new office will have to give up the additional remuneration provided for. It is also high time that parliamentarians see their remuneration halved”, continued the leader of the ‘leftmost.
“It is a democratic measure. The lifestyle of parliamentarians must imperatively come closer to the lifestyle of workers”, he added.
