Provincial Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfikar Ali Shah formed a two-member committee for inquiry on the issue of missing paintings from Ferrier Hall.
The issue of the missing pantag came to light when the all-record-breaking Pakistani drama Kabhi Mein Kabhi Tum was accused of plagiarism.
An episode of the drama shows the growing intimacy between Adeel and Rabab’s friend Natasha, who secretly meets Rabab. During the same meeting, a scene also unfolded when Adeel and Natasha were seen sharing their views on paintings in a gallery. Which created a stir on social media.
Safi Soomro revealed in a post on September 11 that he had taken his paintings to an exhibition at Friar Hall Karachi in 2017, but did not get the paintings back after the exhibition.
When the matter went viral on social media, Provincial Culture and Tourism Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah formed a two-member committee for the inquiry.
The committee consists of DG Culture Manwar Mahesar, DG Antiquities Abdul Fateh Shaikh.
The committee will investigate the matter and submit a detailed report to the provincial minister within 7 days.
