Case of false diplomas: “It has nothing to do with current executives” (Dr Joseph)

In its 2022 report on the state of governance and accountability, the General State Inspectorate (IGE) sought to authenticate the diplomas of certain administrative executives. Out of nearly 1000 diplomas passed through the “scanner”, 346 are deemed non-compliant. Dr Joseph Togna Doré, Auditor General of the State, gave details on this subject this Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

In his explanations, the Auditor General, Dr. Joseph Togna suggested that there was substantive work that was done by the IGE. According to him, this work was the subject of a report which was sent to the Minister of Public Service, in which there is the list of all the persons concerned as well as the years of recruitment.

“It has nothing to do with the current frameworks. People want to seek at all costs to find out what happened under the reign of the CNRD. Aren’t these fake diplomas that we ourselves used to be recruited? No, it is not the senior executives who have just been recruited”, specifies the Auditor General.

Continuing, he stresses that it is on the basis of this work that certain recent reforms have been undertaken at the Ministry of the Civil Service.

“The team has been inside the country, it has been in universities, in the civil service and a good list is made. The Minister of Public Service is even working in this direction. If you hear about FUGAS, the cleaning of the civil service file, it is because of this report”.
