Case against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

The fiancee of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was killed in Istanbul, Turkey in 2018, has filed a lawsuit against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

In a lawsuit filed in Washington, DC, Turkish citizen Khadija Cengiz has claimed personal and financial damages for Jamal Khashoggi’s death.

The lawsuit alleges that Jamal Khashoggi was killed at the behest of Mohammed bin Salman. However, the Saudi crown prince has denied the allegations of ordering the killing of Jamal Khashoggi.

Jamal Khashoggi was assassinated in 2018 inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.

It should be noted that last month in the Jamal Khashoggi murder case, the court of Saudi Arabia sentenced eight people. Eight people were sentenced to a total of 124 years in prison.

According to Saudi Press Agency SPA, the military court of Riyadh declared eight people guilty of murder. The decision was final under Section 210 of the Criminal Code.

The SPA quoted the spokesperson of the Public Prosecution as saying that eight people have been sentenced to 124 years in prison.

The spokesperson said that this decision of the court is final and must be complied with. It is mandatory under Section 212 of the Criminal Code.

According to SPA, the spokesperson said that these punishments were given after the heirs of the deceased waived their rights.
