Casablanca’s Double-Decker Tourist Bus Network: Boosting Tourism and Highlighting Historical Sites

A major initiative is regarding to see the light of day in Casablanca: the establishment of a network of double-decker tourist buses. This ambitious project will be presented to the Casablanca City Council during its ordinary session this month, with the aim of boosting the city’s tourism offering and highlighting its historical and cultural sites.

According to the details of the agreement which will be submitted to the council for approval, the project provides for the acquisition of four tourist buses, as well as their necessary installations and equipment. A budget of 25 million dirhams was allocated for this purpose, with financial contributions coming from the Ministry of Tourism, the Casablanca-Settat region and the municipality of Casablanca.

The management of this project will be entrusted to the local development company Casa Transport, in partnership with the company Alsa Al Baida, delegatee of the bus network in Casablanca. These buses will travel a specific route, passing the main tourist sites of the city, such as the Hassan II Mosque, the old medina, the Sacred Heart Church and the various museums.

To ensure the smooth running of the project, a commission will be set up, chaired by the wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, responsible for monitoring its execution and resolving any possible obstacles.

The entry into force of this agreement will require the approval of all parties involved, including the Ministries of Tourism and Youth, Culture and Communication, as well as local authorities and entities affected by the project. Once approved, this project promises to enrich the tourist experience in Casablanca and contribute to the economic and cultural development of the city.
