Here is the essence of the annual summary of the Casablanca Stock Exchange for the year 2021:
1- The Masi posted a strong increase of 18.35% to 13,385.32 points and the MSI20 advanced 17.4% to 1,085.71 points.
2- The overall volume of trade reached more than 74.74 billion dirhams (billion dirhams), including 40.78 billion dirhams made on the central market (shares), 23.47 billion dirhams on the block market, 600 million dirhams ( MDH) of introductions volume, DH 2.39 billion in the form of a capital increase and DH 6.78 billion in securities contributions.
3- Attijariwafa Bank was the most active instrument of the year with nearly 7.9 billion dirhams of exchanges (a share of 19.37%), followed by Ciments du Maroc with 3.95 billion dirhams (9.68% ), Itissalat Al-Maghrib with 3.85 billion dirhams (9.44%), BCP with 2.54 billion dirhams (6.22%) and Cosumar with 2.18 billion dirhams (5.36%).
4- The market capitalization amounted to MAD 690.71 billion.
5- On the sectoral level, 19 indices posted increases ranging from 179.65% for the pharmaceutical industry to 7.85% for transport.
6- Four (4) sectors ended the year in a dark mood, namely “Utilities” (-36.88%), “Portfolio Company & Holdings” (-5.38%), “Telecommunications” ( -3.83%) and “Leisure and Hotels” (-3.73%).
7- Individually, 61 stocks ended up, while 12 stocks closed the year down.
8- The best individual performances of the year were recorded by Fenie Brossette (+ 254.11% at 142 dirhams), Sothema (+ 196% at 1,480 dirhams), Maghreb Oxygène (+ 112.63% at 404 dirhams), Sonasid (+ 105% at 615 dirhams) and Stroc Industre (+ 85.37% at 38 dirhams).
9- The heaviest declines were accused by Lydec (-36.88% to 236.05 dirhams), SMI (-22.53% to 1,499 dirhams), Centrale Danone (-15.59% to 433 dirhams), Oulmès (-13.86% to 1,050 dirhams) and Unimer (-12.17% to 141.4 dirhams).
