National Crafts Week continues with the inauguration of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Crafts Fair.
Let’s go for the Casablanca Regional Crafts Fair. Indeed, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, chaired the inauguration of this event which takes place within the framework of the 7th edition of the National Week of Crafts (SNA), organized by its department in coordination with the Maison de l’artisan. During this demonstration she was accompanied by Said Ahmidouch, wali of the region, Aziz Dades, governor of the prefecture of the districts of Casablanca-Anfa, and Jalila Morsli, president of the Chamber of crafts of the Casablanca-Settat region and of several other personalities.
“Organized by the Chamber of Crafts of Casablanca-Settat in partnership with the ministry, the Maison de l’artisan and the region of Casablanca-Settat, this fair aims to diversify the sources of income of craftsmen by allowing them to display and sell their products. More generally, these regional fairs aim to relaunch the commercial dynamic at the national level, to encourage production and to promote the creation of employment, especially among young people and women artisans, ”said the ministry in a press release. This fair has the participation of more than 127 craftsmen and craftswomen from the prefectures and provinces of the region of Casablanca-Settat, Fez, Azilal, Demnate, Taroudant, Marrakech, Tiflet, Rabat and Errachidia and representing several sectors such as weaving and sewing. traditional crafts, brassware, saddlery, ceramic pottery, traditional zellige and decorative stone, embroidery, jewellery, leather, glass staining, engraving and art paintings.
In addition, several Wissams granted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI were distributed to craftsmen who have contributed to preserving the cultural and intangible heritage of the sector. It should be noted that in line with the ministry’s strategy to increase craft exports, while strengthening local commercial dynamics, this edition of National Crafts Week has undergone a complete overhaul of its format by integrating a new component internationally while consolidating the position of the craft product locally. As such, several national marketing operations have been programmed, including regional craft fairs in the twelve regions of the Kingdom.
