The Carnival of Cartagena already has its queens. Both are from the Salgueiro comparsa, which won this Saturday, February 11, with the title of both child and adult queen. In the case of the adult queen, Virginia Villada He won the highest award with a creation by designer José Lisón, an allegory to the guardian of Olympus Elora.

The Queen’s Election Gala, which was attended by the mayoress, Noelia Arroyo, and the councilors Juan Pedro Torralba, David Martínez Noguera and Carlos Piñana, among others, did not disappoint anyone, since they might see dresses of almost five meters high that collected the work, effort and splendor that characterizes the Carnival of Cartagena, which continues to take firm steps to get the declaration of National Tourist Interest.

During the course of the event, recognition was given to the outgoing queen, Rosana Yepesfrom the Aradia comparsa, while the president of the Carnival Federation, Eduardo Pignatelli, presented the mayoress with the gold Carnival insignia, which the councilor collected with gratitude and emotion.

Before, during the followingnoon, the Gala of election of the children’s queen, titled that it fell to Irene, from the comparsa Salgueiro Kidsin a costume that is a recreation of the movie The Neverending Story.

The party continues this Sunday, February 12, at the Wsell de Guimbarda Pavilion, where the twentieth edition of the Regional Choreographic Groups Contest is held throughout the day, which will begin at noon with dances from the children’s section. The adult choreographies will take place in two shows, at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
