THE largest international indoor archery tournament will be held in Indonesia. The event called Grand Triumph 2024 will elevate the Barebow Division in the international world.
Carrying the concept of sport tourism, Grand Triumph 2024 targets more than 900 archery athletes to participate in this tournament. Currently, around 30 – 40 percent of the available quota has been sold, including from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
As the host with the largest Barebow community in the world, Indonesian Barebow athletes are expected to enliven the tournament in order to elevate Barebow to the international stage, alongside the current Compound and Recurve Divisions.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee Grand Triumph 2024 Satrio Wibowo said that Indonesian people are not yet accustomed to indoor archery tournaments. In fact, at the world level, indoor archery has standard regulations from the World Archery Federation and is a prestigious event for world archery.
“The mecca of the 2024 Grand Triumph is famous indoor archery tournaments such as Vegas Shoot and Lancaster. We want to present an international atmosphere while inviting world indoor archery athletes to come to Indonesia,” he said.
Satrio added, with this international weight, the Barebow Division has a good opportunity to confirm its existence as one of the archery branches that is popular and global.

Therefore, the party continues to strive to invite the Barebow Community from various countries, such as Sweden, Canada, USA, and Asia to participate in this tournament.
“We also hope that the local Barebow community can take advantage of this opportunity to compete with the world’s best Barebow archers, including their archery idols. Thus, Barebow will be increasingly recognized in the international arena,” he said.
As is known, the 2024 Grand Triump will take place at the Jogja Expo Center, on October 19-20, 2024. The categories being competed are Recurve Open 18 m, Compound Open 18 m, Barebow open 25 m, Recurve/National Standard U-15 15 m, Recurve/National Standard U-12 12 m, and Barebow U12 10 m.

Chairman of PB Perpani Arsjad Rasjid emphasized that Indonesian archery needs an industrial touch to be able to introduce this sport more widely and move up a class. In addition, it is important for Indonesia to hold the world-class tournament to emphasize Indonesia’s contribution and role at the world archery level.
Regarding the Grand Triumph, Arsjad had previously conveyed to World Archery President Ugur Erdener that Indonesia is ready to host an international archery tournament.
The talks were held on the sidelines of the 2024 Paris Olympics, with a very positive agreement. “After the Grand Triumph, Indonesia will host a series of international archery matches under World Archery,” said Arsjad. (Z-8)
