The company statement provided more details regarding the “default”: an amount of BRL 517.21 for Transportadora Americana Ltda, whose due date was December 16, 2022.

All it took was a few minutes’ search on the Complain here to a fatal conclusion: more people suffered from the same problem. There are several reports of individuals whose names received a negative debt in Serasa, by the American Carrier.

All follow the same pattern. The company lists the person – who has never hired transport services – as a defaulter at Serasa, which catches the individual by surprise with the information. And this seems to happen for months with the company. That is, it is not a one-time error.

TudoCelular even got in touch with another person who was harmed by the same company – who preferred not to have his name disclosed. She was also surprised by the denial by the carrier.

In order to try to solve his impasse, he managed with effort to discover the origin of the problem: a company hired Transportadora Americana to send him a product, but he would not have paid the bill. Instead of the transport company charging the contracting party, it ended up leaving the recipient’s CPF as a defaulter.

What is American Carrier?

Founded in 1949, Transportadora Americana (TA) is a company that provides logistics services, headquartered in Americana, in the interior of São Paulo. It specializes in road transport of fractional loads and serves the south and southeast regions of Brazil.

In March 2020, the company announced the sale of its brand and operations to Sequoia – considered one of the leading companies in the sector on the national scene. TA, in the statement regarding the purchase by the competitor, pointed out that “a new cycle begins for modernization and growth”.

By consulting the CNPJ in the Federal Revenue system, it is possible to confirm that its registration status remains active. That is, the company exists and is legally responsible for its actions.

In the list of partners and administrators, Sequoia appears as the only partner of the company, in addition to the name of three other people in the administration. Not to mention its share capital of more than R$447 million.
