A computer failure “being resolved” and of an unknown scale has been disrupting payment by bank card in several stores in France since the beginning of the followingnoon this Saturday, several sources told AFP.
Messages from customers on social networks have reported problems in particular with Carrefour, Auchan, Ikea and at McDonald’s.
“Not a cyberattack”
“An incident limited to certain brands which rely on the same technical service provider” makes it there card payment not possiblea spokesperson for the Cartes Bancaires group told AFP.
“This is not a cyberattack, nor a problem with the CB payment network,” she added. The problem “was identified” by the service provider and “East being resolved“.
A spokesperson for fast food chain McDonald’s confirmed “a national breakdown” which affects brands “since noon”. The “return to normal is gradually underway”, he added.

“Around 12:30 p.m. and until 1:20 p.m., Worldline experienced some transaction disruptions on one of its payment platforms”a spokesperson for the French group explained to AFP.
And “the Worldline teams have resolved the problem”, “the reactivation is sometimes likely to take a little longer“ among some customers, she added.
However, no information was available on the extent of the outage and the number of brands and customers affected.
