The Carrefour group announced on Thursday the withdrawal of the sale of its own brand hollow Brittany oysters, sold in the fish section of some of its stores in Belgium. Consumers are asked to return the product to their point of sale due to the potential presence of E. Coli bacteria.

These are the Bretagne N3 cupped oysters 12 pieces from the Carrefour brand, sold between October 13 and 17 and whose use-by date is set for 10/22/2023, which are affected by this product recall. These oysters were sold in the Carrefour hypermarkets in Mons Grands Prés, Auderghem and Bomerée.

Carrefour recommends that people who have purchased this product do not consume it and destroy it or return it to the point of sale where they will be refunded.

“People who have consumed this product and who experience intestinal disorders are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption. These symptoms can be aggravated in young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised individuals and the elderly,” specifies the group.
