World number one Iga Swiatek confirmed her place in the semifinals of the Indian Wells Masters, Friday (15/3) early morning WIB, when her opponent, Caroline Wozniacki withdrew due to a leg injury.
Swiatek and Wozniacki’s match was exciting and the 31 year old Danish tennis player led 4-1 in the first set.
However, Swiatek recovered and won six games in a row to win the first set 6-4 and went 1-0 up in the second when Wozniacki sought medical treatment for an injury to her right leg.
The former world number one tennis player then decided he might not continue the match.

“I’m very sorry that she had to end the match in this way,” said Swiatek regarding the match between herself and Wozniacki.
This match in Indian Wells is the second meeting between the two players, the first taking place in 2019, seven months following Swiatek made her WTA debut and five months before Wozniacki retired.
