Maximilian, a cousin of King Charles III, died at Salem Castle on December 29, 2022, aged 89.
His son Bernhard succeeded him as titular margrave and as head of the house.
If Prince Albert of Monaco at the funeral, his older sister, Caroline of Monaco made it a point of honor to accompany him.
She notably made an appearance with her son Pierre Casiraghi.
