The mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, made it clear that she is up for re-election, although she said that President Luis Abinader is not in it.
The also general secretary of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), said that her position is not raised from the functions performed within that organization, but starting from her concern as a citizen.
“The president is not up for re-election, the president is hard at work, now the one who is up for re-election is me, as simple as that,” said the official during a ceremony with PRM leaders on her trip to New York City.
He said that the continuity of President Abinades for four more years is a necessity.
“The general secretary of the PRM is not speaking to them, nor is the mayor, Carolina Mejía is speaking to them, who is the mother of three (pointing to the number with her hands) and sister of 4, a woman who has concerns as a citizen is speaking to you, and that he is clear that Luis Abinader is foolish, four more years”, said Mejía when speaking at the event, where she was applauded by those present.
