The conference semifinals series between the Carolina Hurricanes and the New Jersey Devils is becoming a straight affair.
After the 5:1 victory in game one, Carolina acted dominantly in the second duel as well and shot the opponent out of the hall with 6:1. Four hits in the middle section pave the safe victory.

The Finn Kotkaniemi opens the scoring after a goalless first third in the power play (22./PP) and shortly afterwards increases to 2:0 (24.). Staal (38th) and Necas (40th) make the preliminary decision before the last break.
In the final section, the Devils managed to score a goal through Wood (44′), but a double strike from Martinook (53′) and Noesen (54′) left no doubt about the clear winner of the encounter.
Canes goalie still almost impossible to beat
On the other hand, goalkeeper Frederik Andersen once again proves to be an almost invincible support. The Dane has saved 28 of 29 shots on goal and has now had just one shot from behind in three play-off appearances.
“Everyone is doing their job right now, that’s why we’re successful,” said head coach Rod Brind’Amour, enthusiastic about his team’s performance after the game.
