The Minister of Production and Agroindustry of Río Negro, Carlos Banacloymet today with the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massaand with the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Juan Jose Bahillowith the aim of working to recover the “export competitiveness” from the province.
“It is an urgent need to return to give competitiveness to our regional economies and fruit growing since we are in the middle of the harvest season. Compensate for the difference in the exchange rate,” said Banacloy.
«We agree with the Minister of Economy that it should be return to the path of exports since they are the main source of foreign currency income for our country and restore competitiveness to regional economies to strengthen their exports,” he added.
The request of the National Government was to review the times and “find a middle ground” since they are working on a export incentive scheme.
“The commitment was made to continue working together as quickly as possible. and in line with the work guidelines of Governor Arabela Carreras, always in pursuit of all regional economies -the productions of pear, apple, onion, hops, pumpkin, cherries, absolutely all- have the necessary competitiveness to not lose this agro-export momentum that the province of Río Negro has”, Banacloy concluded.
