A few hours following the end of the first extra-long weekend of 2023, questions begin regarding when the next one falls. The presidential decree for this year’s calendar provides for 14 immovable holidays, 2 transferable and 3 for tourism purposes, adding a total of 19 days of rest.
After the first irremovable holiday of the year, January 1, the following were those of Monday the 20th and today Tuesday the 21st, the so-called Carnival holidays.

Before the Easter holidays there are two: Friday March 24, for the National Day of Memory for Truth and Justice, and on Sunday, April 2, for Veteran’s Day and the Fallen in the Malvinas War. Both are immovable.
In the first case, it would be the first extra-large weekend with the school year already started and the children in school.

The next days of rest will be in Holy Week: Thursday, April 6 will be a non-working day and on the 7th, Good Friday, it will be a holiday.
Difference Between Holidays and Non-Working Days
The difference between both terms is clarified in the Labor Contracts Law. For national holidays, the same considerations apply as for Sunday rest: if you are worked that day, you will be rewarded with 100% plus the usual remuneration.
On the other hand, for non-working days, the person who works will not be paid double the day and it is the employer who must define whether or not the workers will attend their posts.

Meanwhile, between the holidays portable they will meet:
- on August 17 (Step to the Immortality of General José de San Martín), which will be held on Monday, August 21;

Regarding holidays for tourist purposes, the decree will establish as dates:
- on Friday May 26 (bridge with the holiday of Thursday May 25, Day of the May Revolution),
- on Monday, June 19 (bridge with the holiday of Tuesday, June 20, Passage to the Immortality of General Manuel Belgrano)
- on Friday, October 13 (long weekend, four days, by transfer from Thursday, October 12 -Respect for Cultural Diversity Day- to Monday, October 16).
In short, 2023 will have four extra-long weekends, four days each: from Saturday, February 18 to Tuesday, February 21; from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 May; from Saturday June 17 to Tuesday June 20; and from Friday the 13th to Monday the 16th of October, which will contribute to promoting getaways and, with them, the growth of tourist activity.
