“Carmen” as a nymphomaniac under the lantern at the Stadttheater Baden – Musiktheater

In the tranquil spa town, almost everything is back to how it used to be – not like in the days of the Emperor, but at least like before Corona. With a budget of a good ten million euros, the Baden stage puts on eight premieres per season and entertains around 80,000 visitors with its program (mainly operettas and musicals), and the occupancy rate is said to be around 80 percent. With the city theater by Helmer & Fellner and the charming summer arena in the nearby Kurpark, the “cultural local supplier” features two architectural gems. The contract with Artistic Director Michael Lakner was recently extended until September 2025.
