Carlos Santana faints during concert in Michigan

Mexican guitarist Carlos Santana fainted on stage while giving a concert Tuesday night at the Pine Knob Music Theater in Michigan.

According to the portal Billboardwho was covering the recital of the 74-year-old from Jalisco, Santana was taken off the stage, in a wheelchair following suffering heat stroke and dehydration.

The musician greeted the audience who applauded him as he was removed from the stage.

In videos of those attending the show, moments can be seen in which the winner of 10 Grammys is attended by the staff, and his wife, drummer Cindy Blackman, who is a member of his band, gives him a bottle of water.

According to those present, the event occurred when the artist, considered one of the best guitarists of all time, had been in concert for an hour.

Santana is on tour promoting his album Blessings and Miracles next to Earth, Wind & Fire. This Wednesday he has a date scheduled in Pennsylvania, and for the rest of the week he planned to visit Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin. So far it has not been determined if these concerts will go ahead.

In February, Santana tweeted that he had contracted covid-19, like several members of his band, for which he postponed several concerts. Two months ago, in December 2021, he shared in a video that he had undergone heart surgery following experiencing severe chest pain.

In a press release issued by his management agency hours following the incident, it was reported that Santana is doing well and recovering following suffering exhaustion from the high temperatures.
