Carlos Sainz Sr. Victory in Dakar: Is the Future Electric for Rally Raids?

Leo Turini, a veteran of Italian racing journalism, commented in his own style on yesterday’s victory of Carlos Sainz Sr. in the Dakar, drawing attention to the fact that his son flew to Saudi Arabia to congratulate his father on this success at the finish of the rally raid…

Sainz Sr. won the Dakar, held in Saudi Arabia. On an electric Audi SUV, although, as far as I understand, many still refuse to admit that a car that does not run on gasoline or diesel fuel can win this rally raid.

But if the Audi electric car, which emits almost nothing into the atmosphere, wins the Dakar, then quite seriously I invite everyone to ask the question: do you really think that this achievement is also a conspiracy of the elites?

Let’s turn on our brains and be honest with ourselves. Of course, of course, I’ve already heard so many times that “climate changes are all fiction, because we’ve seen that Tesla electric cars freeze in winter.” And so on, from which some people conclude that this is all someone’s conspiracy. Therefore, Italy must immediately leave the European Union and restore the lira as the state currency. No, thanks.

Let’s return to Sainz Sr.’s victory in Dakar. What regarding Sainz Jr.? Carlos was at the finish line of the rally raid and celebrated the success with his father. Is it possible to see in this some hint of his future prospects?

Is it true or not that Audi, through his legendary father, is offering him in 2026 to drive a car built by the team that used to be called Sauber?

If this is not the case, then why has Carlos, unlike Charles Leclerc, not yet renewed his contract with Ferrari?

As knowledgeable people assure me, the contract will be extended. But when?..

PS Some time ago I suggested that Ferrari would win at least five Grands Prix in 2024, and now in various places I come across optimistic comments referring to my forecasts. I would like to remind you right away that this is my own theory, nothing more, and it may be wrong.

And my reputation has nothing to do with it, otherwise some consider me an influential journalist. Yes, I don’t have any influence, I’m not an authority, I’m telling you that for sure. I am just me, and that’s enough for me personally.
