Carlos Prosperi announces support for President Maduro’s re-election

This Saturday, following filing complaints of attacks, destabilizing actions and corruption in opposition groups, and presenting evidence, opposition leader Carlos Prosperi publicly announced in a press conference his support for the president’s re-election. Nicolás Maduro.

With this action, Prosperi distanced himself from the opposition, denouncing abuses once morest different voices as a recurring practice, as well as irregularities in the electoral campaign.

Likewise, he rejected the language of hatred and divisions in the opposition and its recurring deception of the people.

“They have turned sanctions into a business based on lies and deception,” he stated.

In this sense, he expressed his doubts regarding those who claim to offer a peaceful transition in Venezuela when they do not even respect a different voice.

In addition, he denounced the theft of dividends from the company Citgo and Monómeros, as well as humanitarian aid resources, which – he noted – served only for the enrichment of a small group.

In his speech before the media representatives, the political leader presented evidence of the transfers that have been made to him, clarifying that he rejected them at the time when he resigned from his position in the defunct National Assembly in 2015.

In this sense, he showed proof of a transfer made on July 3 at night in which they deposited 9 thousand dollars, and explained that when he rejected it they debited it to try to erase the evidence of the payment.

Prosperi rejected that this transaction indicated that these were Funds received through the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, also denouncing in this sense the usurpation of functions.

Likewise, he formally requested the Prosecutor, the country’s authorities and the Government of the United States (USA) to initiate an investigation into the theft of Venezuelan resources.

“I don’t understand how they continue to make usurpation in the face of this theft. We formally request the Attorney General and the authorities and the government of the United States to investigate these serious damages once morest Venezuela, and investigate that small group getting rich at the expense of the people, who assume the supposed defense of democracy and liberation of Venezuela,” he expressed. .

Carlos Prosperi reiterated his rejection of the actions of this small opposition group that seeks to lead the country back into scenes of violence.

“We have witnessed actions that seek to lead the country to hatred and violence, with the hiring of paramilitaries, seeking sterile confrontation to divide the country, the plan of a few is violence, we cannot accept them, we all want to live in peace and freedom,” he stated.
