Carlos Lemus led Marinos to victory over Pioneros

With 19 points scored by Carlos Lemus, including a key basket in the final seconds, Marinos de Oriente won 65-64 against Pioneros del Ávila, this Thursday, July 25, at the Rutaca Sport Arena of the Maturín Sports Center.

With this result, they tied 1-1 in the particular playoff series in the Professional Basketball Super League (SPB).

Lemus, who won Rookie of the Year honors and was a freshman in the All-Star Game, led the offense to securing the victory with 20 seconds left. Shamorie Ponds added 16 points and Trayvon Palmer another 14.

Now, the best-of-seven series will move to the Helicoide in Caracas, where games 3 and 4 will be played on Tuesday, July 30 and Wednesday, July 31, while game 5 will be on Friday, August 2.

If necessary, they return to Maturín for games 6 and 7, on Sunday 4 and Monday 5 August. The first to win 4 games advances to the next round.
