Now that the minnesota twins were officially eliminated from the playoffs, attention is focused on the chances that Carlos Correa opt out of the contract with a view to obtaining one of greater value and longevity.
Correa, who turned 28 on Sept. 22, will have the option to continue with the Twins for the 2023 season for a salary of $35.1 million. However, the signs are that he prefers to decline in order to achieve a multi-year agreement that might be around 10 years and exceed $ 300 million.

“When I go to the mall, I go to the Dior store and I want something, I buy it. I ask how much it costs and I buy it,” Correa told a group of journalists. “So if you really want something, just go get it. I’m the product here, so if you want my product, just come get it”.
Correa started off slow offensively, but warmed up as the season progressed. In 131 games, he is batting .286 with 21 homers and 61 RBIs.
If the Puerto Rican does decide to return to free agency, he will be one of the most sought-following shortstops on the market along with Trea Turner (Dodgers), Xander Bogaerts (Red Sox) and Dansby Swanson (Braves), among others.
