This is a consequence of the recent accusations concerning Carl De Moncharline. This well-known figure in the Brussels nightlife is accused of sexual assault using drugs in his former establishment at Wood. It was RTBF’s #Investigation program that brought to light a series of anonymous testimonies. Carl De Moncharline formally denies these accusations once morest him and has already announced that he is filing a complaint for defamation.
In a press release, shareholders of Scepter, owner of the bar l’Impérial (Impérial Premium Bar) managed by Carl De Moncharline, insisted on “to express [leur] astonishment”. “No member of [l’]general meeting was not aware of the facts of which he is accused.”
A measure has just been taken on March 31, the date of the press release: “Carl De De Rijck (Editor’s note: Carl De Moncharline) was asked to stop his activities within the Imperial, pending the outcome of the investigation”. The luxury bar, located rue de la Régence near Place Poelaert, remains open.
“We are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our customers.”, assure the shareholders. “We regret having to suffer, in spite of ourselves, the repercussions of this sad affair, but we have confidence in the Belgian justice system which will bring clarity to this file.”
Currently, the Brussels public prosecutor’s office cannot specify whether one or more investigations are underway once morest Carl De Moncharline.
