Caribe Wave 2023 international exercise successfully in Zulia

The Ministry for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP), educational institutions, communities and volunteers, were activated in the drill that promotes the preparation and application of action protocols in the event of natural events, called Caribe Wave.

The sectoral vice president for citizen security and peace, A/J. Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, head of the MPPRIJP, ​​stressed that this international exercise, corresponding to 2023, prioritizes prevention in the face of the threat of these phenomena, as well as their identification and reduction of risks.

In several Caribbean countries, the drill was carried out in order to educate the population, so the National Risk Management System (SNGR) led the necessary work together with security agencies and Ceofanb, in Venezuela, especially in the coastal strip of the country.

In Zulia, the entities attached to the MPPRIJP such as the General Directorate for Crime Prevention (DPD) and Civil Protection in the municipalities of Maracaibo, Valmore Rodríguez and Colón, approached the Santa Rosa de Agua community, in the Coquivacoa parish, the Rafael Educational Units Urdaneta I, from La Victoria parish, and Elide Magali Medina de Mill, from Santa Bárbara parish.

Ceballos reported the activation of the territorial defensive system, 573 Peace Quadrants from 13 states of the country together with the people, as a comprehensive prevention strategy, strengthening attention in disaster and emergency situations for life and peace.
