Carey Price: an announcement on Friday

The Montreal Canadiens informed reporters on Wednesday that an update on goaltender Carey Price will be released on Friday.

The number 31 is trying to recover from knee surgery he had in July, but his fitness is lagging behind. He hasn’t played yet this season and there is no indication he will be in uniform by the end of the campaign on April 29.

Among the other cripples, defender Joel Edmundson, struggling with back pain, skated in Brossard in the morning and is getting closer to a return to play.

As for Jonathan Drouin (wrist), he underwent treatment and was absent from the session. Teammate Joel Armia, cut in the face during Thursday’s game once morest the St. Louis Blues, is expected to skate once more soon.

Mathieu Perreault (lower body) participated in the session and his case is assessed daily.

No information relating to striker Christian Dvorak (upper body) has been released. He has been missing since January 24.
