Cardiva concludes the year 2022 with the inauguration of a new division: that of traumatology. Thus, it enters a tremendously mature sector with an ambitious work plan: represent leading product brands that touch all areas of the business, from reconstructive surgery, osteosynthesis, regenerative medicine, spine or products dedicated to infections, as well as tumor or custom-made prostheses, as explained in a statement sent to the media.

The company has more than 30 years of experience in national distribution and manufacturing and extensive knowledge of the healthcare system, therefore, Agustín Canales, director of Traumatologyaffirms that “this business unit starts with a lot of advantage, thanks to the fact that we have departments and services shared with the rest of the company, and it will be fully competitive during the first quarter of 2023”???????? “We joined this market hand in hand with a new partner: Permedica, an Italian manufacturer, with a history similar to ours, who shares our concerns. We are very excited regarding this new adventure, which will mean a unique value proposition, both for the end customer and for the healthcare system”, says Ignacio Vega, president of Cardiva.

According to the managers, the combination between a national distributor and a European manufacturer, aware of the needs of surgeons and with full control of the production chain, guarantees access to technology and a focus on professionals. “The trauma surgeon will have at his disposal a top quality product, with a highly specialized commercial network and a first-rate logistics service”, they highlight. This business area represents a great opportunity for future growth and development. Not surprisingly, it is estimated that will bring sustained growth to the company over the next 5-8 years.

“In a short period of time, the surgeon will associate us with a high-quality product and service, introducing us in a disruptive way in the Traumatology sector and gaining a share of participation,” says Canales. For his part, Vega points out that, strategically, “This new division has been a permanent desire, due to the powerful synergies with other consolidated business areassuch as the Clinical division or the Pain division, and the important commitment that we are making in regenerative medicine projects”.

In addition, another of the reasons for the great potential of Traumatology is the high life expectancy of the population. The latest market studies anticipate that, in the next 10 years, the sector will grow at a rate of 6%, due to the development of a high number of chronic diseases. In the same line, the reconstructive surgery market (knees, hips, shoulders) represents around 250 million euros in Spain and another 50 million in Portugal.

The company’s strategic commitment has been firm from the beginning, so investment in talented personnel has been a basic pillar of the project. “We go to the market with the guarantee that our staff is highly qualified, is a commercial network versed in sales mechanisms and with a high degree of knowledge of the catalog”, details the director of Traumatology. Likewise, the business unit has specific logistics, which is being digitized, to manage warehouses, daily consumption and the material that arrives at the hospital to perform specific surgeries. “Cardiva’s ability to react and become flexible in such a changing environment means that we can give the best and closest response to health professionals,” concludes its president.
