The director of Civil Protection (PC) in Táchira, Yesnardo Canal, warned of an increase in cardiovascular pathologies and cases of dehydration due to the increase in temperatures in the state, caused by climate change that affects the entire world.

“We must be very careful, especially staying hydrated and protecting ourselves from the sun’s rays. High temperatures have caused an increase in cardiovascular diseases and high blood pressure,” Canal said in an interview for Radio Faith and Joy.

The official recalled that in the last two weeks a thermal sensation of between 45 and 47 degrees Celsius has been reported. In this regard, he mentioned that for two years the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has highlighted the emergency surrounding climate change and the risks it entails.
